All Private Landlords, Estate Agents and Letting Agents need to:
- Ensure that their housing stock is safe and complies with the latest legislation and regulations
- Certify that electrical installations have been inspected and tested prior to the start of a new tenancy (from 1st July 2020)
- Provide all tenants and letting agents with a copy of an up to date EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report)
- Guarantee electrical safety checks are carried out on any existing tenancies by 1st April 2021
- Employ a reliable qualified electrician or firm that is a member of an accredited registration scheme operated by a recognized body in the electrical industry
- Update homes and communal areas to meet risk assessments, insurance requirements and health and safety standards.
